Connections

Everything that was once part of a whole continues to maintain contact to the whole even after it is removed. This connection is uninterrupted and remains intact over any distance - in both directions. For example, if a lock of hair is cut off, it maintains contact to the person it once was a part of, and the person to the lock of hair. As with a pair of mobile phones, it is irrelevant where the two phones are - they make contact like the person and the lock of hair.

Morphogenetic fields

To maintain contact to the whole, the part that maintains the contact does not even have to have been separated from this whole itself. In his theory of morphic fields, Rupert Sheldrake describes how all animals or plants of the same species maintain contact to each other, irrespective of the distance between them.
