Subconsciousness = superconsciousness
When discussing whether the waking consciousness or the subconsciousness is the superior, people tend to give higher priority to the waking consciousness since they are under the illusion that it is their waking consciousness that determines their way through life.
In fact, however, it is rather like an iceberg, whose greater part is concealed under the water. The visible upper part merely follows the currents to which the lower and greater part is subjected.
Since the subconscious is the superior consciousness, and not - as the name would suggest - subordinate, the name "subconsciousness" is misleading; "superconscious" would be more appropriate here.
We therefore call it the unconsciousness.
